FlexEnable

FlexEnable logoFlexEnable develops OTFT-based backplanes for flexible displays, suitable for both EPD and OLED technologies. The company was spun-off from Plastic Logic in February 2015 to further develop the technology and license it for display makers.

In 2014 Plastic Logic demonstrated flexible AMOLED prototypes built on their OTFT backplanes. The company also develops graphene-based display backplanes. FlexEnable is collaborating with CPT to develop flexible OLED dispalys based on OTFT backplanes.

Evonik

Evonik LogoEvonik, based in Germany, is a multi-national specialty chemicals company. The company focuses on high-growth sectors, especially health, nutrition, resource efficiency and globalization.

The company developed a new oxide-TFT backplane material (iXsenic S) and a solvent-based process. iXsenic S offers a performance that is high enough to drive high-resolution LCD and OLED displays and can be used in a low-cost coating-based deposition process.

OLED Materials Solutions

OLED Materials solutions, established in June 2014 in Japan, was formed by Nippon Electric Glass (60%) and Saint-Gobain (40%) to develop, manufacture and market glass substrates with internal extraction layers for OLED Lighting panels.

Encapsulix

Encapsulix logoEncapsulix, established in 2010 in France, develops ALD equipment for thin-film deposition. Encapsulix developed an ALD reactor configuration (injector, doser, reaction chamber) which is infinitely geometrically scale able.

The company focuses on encapsulation and ultra-barrier coatings applications specifically for OLED (lighting and display), flexible organic electronics, data storage and other emerging applications.

In January 2017 Encapsulix announced that a "leading Asian AMOLED maker" has chosen its ALD-TFE systems for industrial-scale flexible OLED encapsulation. The company also supplied R&D systems to Blackbody and Leti.
