Wintek, established in 1990 in Taiwan produces touch panels and LCD displays (with factories in China, Taiwan and India).

In 2011 it was reported that Wintek is building a 4-Gen LTPS OLED fab in Southern Taiwan in collaboration with Tianma, but this fab never materialized.

Winstar, established in 1998 in Taiwan, is a display producer, that makes LCDs and PMOLED displays. Winstar has two 2.5-Gen PMOLED production lines.

Winstar offers a range of monochrome and color PMOLED displays, and is developing flexible OLEDs and OLED lighting panels and also transparent PMOLED displays.

In 2022, Winstar became a public company followin an IPO at Taiwan's OTC (ticker :6916).

Tianma Micro-Electronics is a China-based display producer that was established in 1983. TianMa has been active with OLED R&D since 2010.

Tianma is currently producing AMOLED displays in low volume in its 5.5-Gen pilot fab, and in April 2017 the company announced that its 6-Gen LTPS AMOLED fab in Wuhan, China, is now starting to produce panels. This is the first 6-Gen AMOLED line in China to enter production. The new fab will produce both rigid and flexible OLEDs.

Pioneer, based in Japan, was founded in 1938, and is producing home and car electronics systems. Pioneer was the first company to actually make OLED displays - back in 1998.

Pioneer today produces a wide range of high-end PMOLED panels. The company used to produce AMOLED display but exited from the AMOLED display market in 2005. In 2022 Pioneer spun-off its PMOLED production unit to SOAR Corporation.

In February 2010, Pioneer announced it has entered the OLED Lighting market, together with Mitsubishi Chemicals. Pioneer is producing the panels using Mitsubishi's technology. They are sold under the Verbatim brand.

Innolux was established in 2009 in taiwan as a merger between Innolux, CMO and TPO. Both TPO and CMO had OLED subsidiaries. The company was known as Chimei Innolux up until October 2012 when it decided to change its name back to Innolux.

CMO's OLED subsidiary was called Chi Mei EL Corporation (CMEL) and was producing AMOLED displays until the merger (the company was producing panels up to 7.6" in size). TPO was developing small (3-4 inch€) AMOLED displays but did not reach mass production and faced technical difficulties.

In 2017 Taiwan-based Innolux started to produce its first flexible AMOLED display, a round 1.39" 400x400 (287 PPI) panel - although the company's OLED production capacity is very limited. The company's OLED program is no longer in focus.

LG Display, based in Korea, is one of the world's largest display makers. LGD produces screens for TVs, laptops and mobile devices.

LG Display is producing OLED TV panels and also flexible OLEDs for mobile devices - wearables and smartphones (branded as pOLEDs).

Towards the end of 2015 LG Display acquired LG Chem's OLED lighting business unit for $135 million, but it later withdrew from the lighting market.

Established in 2007, MicroOLED is a privately held company based in Grenoble, France that designs and develops high-performance OLED microdisplays for near-to-eye applications.

In January 2012, MicroOLED announced their first microdisplay, a 0.61" OLED microdisplay which features 5.4 million pixels. In August 2012, ST Microelectronics invested 6 million Euro in MicroOLED, and the two companies launched a collaboration development effort. In 2015 the company announced it shipped over 150,000 0.38" WVGA microdisplays.

In December 2011 we published an interview with MicroOLED's CEO. In 2020 MicroOLED announced that it has raised million Euro as it is accelerating its R&D on consumer AR solutions. In 2023, the company raised 21 million Euro.

Truly Semiconductors is a display maker based in Hong Kong. Truly produces PMOLED displays made in Shanwei, Guangdong province, China.

Towards the end of 2016 Truly started producing AMOLED displays in its 4.5-Gen AMOLED line.

Taiwan's AUO (AU Optronics) was formed in 2001, by the merger of Acer Display and Unipac Optoelectronics. Later in 2006 AUO merged with Quanta Display. AUO is one of the world's largest producers of LCDs.

In 2006 AUO became the world's first AMOLED producer but in 2007 the company decided to shift focus back to LCD, and stopped investing in OLEDs.

China-based Visionox was founded by Tsinghua University and other investors in 2001 with an aim to develop and manufacture OLED display and lighting panels.

The company has been producing PMOLED displays for many years, and has begun AMOLED production in late 2015. In 2018 Visionox announced that it started to produce flexible AMOLED displays at its first 6-Gen OLED fab, in Hebei Province.

Visionox currently has four AMOLED production lines:

1. Gen-5.5 rigid line in Kunshan (V1)
2. Gen-6 flexible line in Hefei (V2)
3. Gen-6 flexible line in Hebei (V3)
4. Gen-6 flexible line in Guangzhou (V4)

In 2015 Visionox spun-off its OLED lighting business into a separate company called Yeolight Technology. In 2021 Visionox spun-off its PMOLED business to Qingyue as the company prepares for its IPO.
