CPT to achieve flexible AMOLED mass production with aid from ITRI

Taiwan's Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) signed an agreement with ITRI for a technology transfer for flexible AMOLED and touch panel integration (specifically ITRI's FlexUP flexible substrate technology - which is owned by FlexUp, encapsulation technology and flexible touch sensor technology).

CPT aims to use these technologies to achieve flexible OLED mass production "as soon as possible". Earlier today we posted that ITRI is set to demonstrate a 7" Full-HD foldable AMOLED prototype soon. ITRI and CPT has been cooperating on flexible OLEDs since 2012.

CPT is going to "combine" its existing pilot 4.5-Gen AMOLED production line with ITRI's test 2.5-Gen flexible AMOLED production line, and integrate CPT's Oxide-TFT (IGZO) backplanes as well. I'm not sure what this production line fusion means, exactly.

CPT is currently producing AMOLEDs in their pilot 4.5-Gen AMOLED fab - but with very limited capacity (if at all). In August 2014 CPT demonstrate several OLED prototypes - including a 4.8" 720x240 flexible AMOLED and a 6" IGZO-based transparent OLED.

CPT is also collaborating on flexible OLEDs with FlexEnable, and the two companies demonstrated an OTFT full-color flexible AMOLED display manufactured by using FlexEnable's low-temperature process and CPT's RGB OLED technology..

Would you please make a summary about all the OLED makers (like AUO, innolux) in Taiwan?

About AUO, maybe that will be a good place to start. It seems that Innolux's OLED plans are on hold for a long time now.
