OLED lighting companies

Japan-based Nippon Shokubai, established in 1941, is a chemical producer and supplier. The company offers many materials, and say that it is the world leader (by market share) of superabsorbent polymers.

Nippon Shokubai is developing its own OLED lighting panel product, branded as iOLED.

Aomori OLED was established by Kaneka in 2010 to handle the production and marketing of the company's OLED lighting technologies and panels.

Aomori OLED currently produces OLED lighting panels, and in 2020 the company's main target market was inspection systems for production sites.

Germany based Inuru developed an interactive "smart surface" technology that enable light-emitting (based on OLED lighting devices) packaging and advertisement labels and solutions.

Inuru's first project enabled Coca Cola Singapore's Star Wars campaign in 2019. Inuru apparently developed its own printed OLED stack and is producing the devices in Germany.

In 2020 Inuru raised 2.3 million Euro in a Series A funding round. In 2023, the company raised a further $10 million, and announced its new focus on printed OLED lighting for the medication and entertainment sectors.

EMDE development of light is a developer and producer of OLED lighting solutions, established by German artist Thomas Emde.

EMDE is part of the European PI-SCALE project and is also a member of the Germany OLED Licht Forum. The company offers its OLED lighting lamps under the OMLED brand.

Ultimate Image Corporation (UMAGE) was established in 2011 in Taiwan, with an aim to become an OLED lighting developer. UMAGE designs and develops OLED lighting technologies and systems as a fabless company.

UMAGE currently deploys a tiled colorful interactive OLED lighting module based solution (C-OLED20).

Yeolight Technology was spun-off Visionox in May 2015 to act as an independent company focusing on OLED lighting. The company produces and supplies OLED lighting panels.

In November 2016 Yeolight introduced its first OLED lamp, using panels acquired from LG Display. Since then the company started to produce its own lighting panels, and in 2017 announced it is targeting the automotive market (among other markets).

In 2020 Yeolight announced that the Hongqi H9 Sedan, which launched in China, uses the company's OLED taillights.

Ason Technology was established in 2006 in Japan to develop OLED lighting technologies. The company develops OLED lighting panels, related electronics and inspection equipment.

Ason developed a new multi-stack structure that enables many layers, and this means they can produce OLED panels that feature a high brightness without compromising the lifetime. In November 2014 we posted an article explaining the company's technology in detail.

Toshiba Corporation, based in Japan, is a multinational engineering and electronics corporation. Toshiba develops a wide range of products and services such as information technology equipment, components and materials, power stations, lighting, consumer electronics, household appliances and more.

Toshiba used to develop OLED Lighting panels, with plans to enter the market in 2015 - which never materialized. Toshiba, together with Sony and Hitachi, formed Japan Display in 2011. The company also develops flexible OLED panels.

Today the company is producing OLED TVs (using WOLED panels produced by LGD).

WAC Lighting is a global innovative lighting designer and manufacturer for Luxury Residential, Commercial, Hospitality, Institutional, Retail and Architectural applications.

WAC Lighting developed several OLED luminaires using panels from LG Chem, OSRAM Orbeos OLED panels and Verbatim's Velve panels.
