Samsung Display signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ferrari to develop a display solution for implementation in Ferrari’s next-generation models.
Samsung Display will develop a bespoke 'innovative automotive display solution' based on its OLED display. The company did not say much more - it will be interesting to see what kind of display will SDC develop for Ferrari.
SDC has been stepping up its efforts in the automotive sector (which has been dominated by LG Display). In June 2022 it was reported that Samsung Display will supply 5 million AMOLED display to BMW. This new deal with Ferrari will increase Samsung's brand visibility in this space. It may also mean that the company is finally ready to deploy next-generation OLED automotive display technologies - such as transparent displays, or rollable ones.
