LG launches its 2022 OLED TV range, with sizes ranging from 42-inch to 97-inch

LG Electronics officially launched its 2022 OLED TV range. The company will offer OLED TVs from 42-inch (which can also be used as high-end gaming monitors) to 97-inch ones.

LG's entry-level 2022 OLED TVs include the 60Hz OLED A2 and the 120Hz OLED B2. These TVs use LG's older-generation video processor and will range in size from 48-inch to 77-inch.

Next up is the 'main' OLED TV series, LG's OLED C2. LG will offer the C2 in a wide range of sizes: 42-, 48-, 55-, 65-, 77- and 83-inch sizes. The C2 uses LG's 4K 120Hz evo OLED panels, this should be a major boost compared to the 2021 OLED C1. The 42-inch option will probably be good news for gamers as this could be used as high-end gaming monitor.

LG's Gallery TV for 2022 is the OLED G2, which will this year include a 97-inch option. The panels are 4K 120Hz evo G panels, and the TV can be mounted on the wall in a 'gallery' wallpaper fashion.

Finally the top of the line OLED Z2 will offer 8K panels, in either 77-inch or 88-inch.

All of LG's 2022 OLED TVs offer 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs (apart for the A2 which has 3), HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision and WebOS 22. The C2, G2 and Z2 TVs offer LG's latest generation Alpha 9-5 video processor.

It is interesting that some of these TVs (the G2 and C2) will feature LG's evo OLED stack, and according to LGD, all panels produced in the second half of 2022 will include the new OLED EX design which should decreases bezel sizes and thickness and increase brightness. It will be interesting to note how this will play out.

LG's 2022 will also include the rollable 65" 65R1, which is the same TV offered in 2021.
