OLED displays use organic materials that emit light when electricity is applied. OLEDs enable emissive, bright, thin, flexible and efficient displays. OLEDs are set to replace LCDs in all display applications - from small displays to large TV sets.
Samsung's Super AMOLED Plus displays were an 2011-2012 upgrade to the company's Super AMOLED displays. Super AMOLED Plus display used a regular (RGB strip) sub pixel scheme as opposed to the Pentile Matrix used in 'regular' Super AMOLED displays. Only a handful of devices, shipped in 2011 and 2012 by Samsung and other companies did use Super AMOLED Plus displays. Samsung seems to have stopped using this brand and are now focused on Pentile scheme for all of its AMOLED panels.
Super AMOLED Plus devices
Super AMOLED Plus was announced in CES 2011, together with the first phone to sport these displays - the Infuse 4G. The display was a 4.5" one. Samsung's Galaxy S2 also had a Super AMOLED plus display (4.3" WVGA)
Samsung also adopted a Super AMOLED Plus display in their first OLED Tablet, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 (7.7" 1280x800 display).
Is Super AMOLED Plus dead?
The last device to actually sport a Super AMOLED Plus display was BLU's Vivo 4.3, a Dual-SIM smartphone introduced in 2012. Since then Samsung did not release any new device with a Super AMOLED Plus display - all of Samsung's newest phones and tablets use a 'regular' Super AMOLED display (with a Pentile Matrix).

We've got some interesting updates about Samsung's upcoming Super AMOLED Plus displays. We know that Samsung said that the new displays feature 50% more sub-pixels, and today we confirmed that Samsung no longer uses Pentile matrix in the new displays - which is great news - they are using regular RBG. Samsung's new manufacturing process allows them to reach over 300ppi - which is comparable to the iPhone 4 "Retina Display" (which features 326ppi).

The last bit of information is regarding the OLED materials - it turns out that Samsung aren't using a Green Phosphorescent material yet. The Super AMOLED Plus displays (like the first-gen Super AMOLED) use just a Red Phosphorescent with a Green and Blue Fluorescents.
Samsung to launch the "Galaxy S2" phone next month with a 4.3" Super AMOLED plus
There are reports that Samsung is set to announce the successor to the successful Galaxy S during MWC 2011 (Samsung officially said that they will announce new Super AMOLED Plus phones during the conference). The Galaxy S2 (not an official name yet) will have a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus display, a dual-core processor, Android v2.3 and NFC support (as in Google's Nexus S phone which is made by Samsung).
This phone was actually leaked in November 2010. Back then it was said that the phone will include a 8mp camera (capable of Full-HD 1080p recording), 1.2Ghz processor, Android v2.3 and 16GB of on board memory.
Samsung to show new Super AMOLED Plus phones in February
Samsung says that they will show new phones in the Mobile World Congress (on February) - that will use Super AMOLED Plus displays. The phones will also feature Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) and dual-code processors.
The company also plans to announce new tablet computers (not clear whether they'll also do so in the MWC exhibition or at a later date) - new Galaxy Tabs. No word on the display used in those, but we know that Samsung will soon produce 7" Super AMOLED panels...
Samsung is developing a 4G-LTE 4.3" super AMOLED plus phone for Verizon
Samsung say they are developing a new 4G LTE smartphone for Verizon. It is currently called the "Samsung 4G LTE Smartphone" - and it has a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus display. Other features include Android 2.2, 8mp camera and a 1Ghz CPU.

They say that the new display feature 50% more sub-pixels, and also features improvements in contrast and outdoor readability over the 'original' Super AMOLED displays. Samsung also announced the first phone to sport these new displays - the Infuse 4G. The display is a 4.5" one, the largest AMOLED Samsung ever made!
Back in July 2010, Samsung announced that they plan to soon double their AMOLED displays' efficiency, lifetime and power consumption. Perhaps the Super AMOLED Plus is the result of that research. We first heard of an upgrade to the Super-AMOLED technology in November 2010, we thought the name would be Super AMOLED 2.

The most interesting bit is the large (4.3" or 4.5") sAMOLED2 display - apparently Super AMOLED 2. Back in July 2010, Samsung announced that they plan to soon double their AMOLED displays' efficiency, lifetime and power consumption. Perhaps the Super AMOLED 2 is the result of that research.
Other features of this new phone include a 8mp camera (capable of Full-HD 1080p), 1.2Ghz processor, 14.4Mbps HSPA, Bluetooth 3 and 16GB of onboard memory. And it runs Android Gingerbread. This is all un-official yet, and in the above slide (which is said to be from Samsung) the photo is of an old VOiP phone which is strange.
