Lightning Silicon Technology was established in early 2023 as a semi-spin-off from Kopin, to develop and supply advanced OLED microdisplays to consumer AR and VR markets.
Lightning Silicon is a fabless company and has an agreement with China-based Lakeside Lightning Semiconductor.
Kopin held a 20% stake in LST, but sold its stake to the company in the summer of 2026.
