US-based Kopin Corporation is a developer of microdisplays and other components for wearable devices.
In December 2016 Kopin announced it is developing OLED microdisplays, and the company since introduced several OLED microdisplays (the first ones were 1" 2Kx2K and 0.49" 1280x720) and announced several design wins.
Kopin signed agreements with OLiGHTEK and with BOE's JV with OLiGHTEK for the production of its OLED microdisplays, but later started working with Lakaeside Optoelectronics.
In early 2023 Kopin spun-off its OLED business unit to Lightning Silicon Technology. In 2026 the company sold off its entire stake at LST.

Kopin receives a $2.4 million OLED microdisplay order from an international thermal weapon sight producer
US-based microdisplay developer Kopin Corporation has received a $2.4 million OLED microdisplay order from a leading international thermal weapon sight manufacturer. Kopin says that these OLED displays will be integrated into a next‑generation thermal weapon sight program, enhancing situational awareness and operational performance for end users.
Kopin will start to deliver the displays towards the end of 2026, over a six-month period. Kopin anticipates follow‑on orders as the customer advances through additional phases of its program.
A few months ago Kopin announced that it has decided to build a full-scale OLED microdisplay production line, at the company's Westborough, Massachusetts headquarters.

US-based microdisplay developer Kopin Corporation announced that it has decided to build a full-scale OLED microdisplay production line, at the company's Westborough, Massachusetts headquarters.
Kopin says it purchased a state of the art OLED deposition system and all related equipment that is required for the new production line. When this line comes online, Kopin will be the second OLED microdisplay maker in the US together with Samsung's eMagin.
