Konica Minolta Pioneer OLED demonstrates flexible OLED lighting integrated with paper packaging

In June 2017 Konica Minolta and Pioneer established a new OLED Joint Venture called Konica Minolta Pioneer OLED, which will combine the OLED business and product divisions of both companies, with a focus on automotive applications.

KMPO released a new video today showing a different possible application of its OLED lighting - integration into paper for packaging or greeting cards. KMPO calls this concept "thin paper products with functionality".

I'm not sure if this will become a lucrative market with current OLED prices, but it is nice to see the new company release its first video and maybe these solutions will find markets in premium product packages.

Hey guys, love you website. Could you perhaps write an article talking about differences between the Lighting OLED and the Display OLED and why Lighting OLED does not degrade in a matter of hours like Display OLED would? I'd also like to see an article comparing the true QLED with the Micro-LED and talking about the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Parshakov: thank you. Basically lighting OLED materials are the same ones used in OLED displays, and these degrade in the same way. The problem with displays is mostly uneven degradation as not all pixels are driven together.

It is still difficult to compare micro-LEDs to QLEDs, perhaps too early. However we have a sister site focused on Micro-LEDs which are certainly promising!

Thanks, I bookmarked that website too!
