Novaled is showing an interesting new transparent OLED lamp design (the "Jumping Flash"). Novaled are using 5 transparent white OLED panels (10x10cm each) and the whole lamp is expandable like a harmonica. When closed, it's a 10x10cm bright light square, and when you open it you get a vertical 50x10cm light strip.

Pretty neat design, hopefully we'll get some more photos of this specific lamp soon.

Universal Display (UDC) was showing a couple of OLED lighting panels at CES. These are the same ones the showed at SID this year (and later UDC designed some nice desk lamps using them):

The panels are 6" in size and only 1/8 inch thick.

CNet spotted someone walking around with an 'OLED hat' at the CES exhibition - actually a hat with several OLED displays (2.8", 320x240 each) on it. It seems that the Recom group is pushing their Video-Name Tag products...

Recom's OLED tags last for about 6 hours and Recom thinks it'll be useful for waiters, business man, promoters, service reps, advertising, etc. They cost $200, although at CES you could buy them for $150.

Samsung says that they will show new phones in the Mobile World Congress (on February) - that will use Super AMOLED Plus displays. The phones will also feature Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) and dual-code processors.

The company also plans to announce new tablet computers (not clear whether they'll also do so in the MWC exhibition or at a later date) - new Galaxy Tabs. No word on the display used in those, but we know that Samsung will soon produce 7" Super AMOLED panels...

Update: There are reports that the Razer doesn't really use OLED keys. The keyboard is actually a touch LCD (one 7" LCD) with transparent keys on top. Clever design!

Razer has a nice small laptop on display at CES, with an OLED keyboard. The idea is similar to Art Lebedev's OLED Optimus (which interestingly is still available for $2400) - each key is a small OLED:

Sony has unveiled a new OLED TV prototype, this one is a 24.5" model that supports glasses-free 3D. Interestingly, Sony plans to launch this TV during 2011 - but for the B2B market (for professional broadcasting use). The quality is great, but the price will be very high of course, so Sony cannot market this to consumers. This is not Sony's first OLED aimed for broadcasting professionals - they also offer the PVM-740 monitor that has a 7.4" OLED (but no 3D).

This TV seems to be quite identical to the one Sony showed at CES 2010, although now the 3D is glasses-free. In any case, it's great to hear yet again that Sony hasn't bailed out on OLEDs...

Samsung say they are developing a new 4G LTE smartphone for Verizon. It is currently called the "Samsung 4G LTE Smartphone" - and it has a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus display. Other features include Android 2.2, 8mp camera and a 1Ghz CPU.

Update: It turns out that Hisense is indeed showing a 15" OLED TV. The panel is made by LG Display (the same panel that is used in the EL9500). Apparantly Hisense plans to ship this TV during 2011.

Hisense issues a press release today, saying that they are introducing new technologies at the CES show. One of the new technologies is OLED TVs: "Hisense's executive vice president Lin Lan introduced the company's newest technologies and products debuted at the show. Hisense's Hi-smart TV, new Hi-Touch TV, Internet-connected TV, OLED TV and large-size cinema TV demonstrate the company's major breakthroughs in technical pre-research and new product development."

We're still not sure if Hisense has an active OLED TV program, and whether they actually intend to launch an OLED TV soon... We'll have to wait and see.

Sony announced the TX100V OLED camera a few days ago, and you can already pre-order it over at Amazon.com - for $379.99. The TX100V is Sony's flagship compact camera with a 3.5" touch OLED display, 16.2mp sensor and Full-HD videos.
