TDK was established in 1935 in Japan to develop and market materials and products for the electronics industry. TDK produced monochrome, color and transparent PMOLED displays through its joint-venture with Futaba (called& TDK Micro Device Corporation).
In November 2011 Futaba bought out TDK's part in TMDC which is now a subsidiary of Futaba - which will take over all of TDK's OLED activities (including the transparent and flexible PMOLED program).
