OLED displays provide better image quality, a low response time, low power consumption and a thinner design. While OLEDs are already very popular in smartphones, wearables, VR headsets and TVs, burn-in challenges and high production costs have resulted in slower adoption in the laptop market.
In 2019 all that changed as Samsung Display started producing 15.6" 4K AMOLED displays for the laptop market, and several leading makers (including HP, Lenovo and Dell) started to offer high-end OLED laptops. Since then SDC added more OLED laptop displays to its lineup, and other OLED producers (such as EDO and BOE) started to offer laptop panels as well.
In 2020 Lenovo became the first company to offer a laptop with a foldable OLED. The ThinkPad X1 Fold features a 13.3" 2048x1536 foldable OLED display that is produced by LG Display. The display takes up the entire interior of this this device, and this is what will likely to be just a first design that may eventually become the future of mobile computing.

The 2022 edition of Lenovo's foldable laptop, the ThinkPad X1 Fold, offers a 16.3" 2024x2560 touch-enable foldable OLED display (12-inch when folded), an Intel Core i7 chipset, 32GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe Gen-4 SSD storage.
The ThinkPad X1 Fold will ship in November 2022, starting at $2,499.
Xiaomi's Book Pro 2022 laptop range comes with two variants, the Book Pro 14 and the Book Pro 16. The Book Pro 14 offers a 14-inch 2880x1880 90Hz AMOLED display (no LCD option on either laptops) and Intel's latest hybrid Alter Lake P chipsets (Core i5 or Core i7).
The Book Pro 16 offers similar specifications, but with a larger 16-inch 3840x2400 60Hz AMOLED display.
MSI's Raider GE67 HX is a high-end Windows 11 gaming laptop with a 15.6" 0.2ms 2560x1440 240Hz OLED display (produced by SDC). The laptop is based on Intel's 12th-Gen chipsets (up to Core i9) and Nvidia GPUs.
The Raider GE67 HX should launch soon, as pre-orders are already available.
The HP Pavilion Plus 14 laptop offers either a 14" 16:10 2240x1400 AMOLED display or a 14" 90Hz 2880x1800 AMOLED. The laptop is based on an Intel chipset and has optional Intel or Nvidia GPUs.
The HP Pavilion Plus 14 is now shipping in the US starting at $799.
HP's premium laptop series, the Spectre x360, offers OLED versions of its 13.3" (3000x2000) and 15.6" di1splays (or an LCD option). The laptops are powered by Intel's 12-gen chipsets and Evo's platform and both offer Gorilla Glass screen cover protection.
HP's 2022 Spectre x360 laptops are now shipping, starting at $1,250 for the 13.3" model (LCD option).
HP's 2022 Envy x360 convertible laptops offer either LCD or OLED displays. The Envy 13 has a 13.3" FHD OLED display while the 16 has a 120Hz 16-inch one. The laptop are based on Intel's Alder Lake chipsets (Core i7 or Core i5) and offer a claimed 20.5 hours battery (13.3" model).
The 2022 Envy laptops are now shipping globally, starting at $879 for the Envy x360 13.3" OLED model.
Acer's Swift 3 OLED (model SF314-71)is the company's first OLED laptop, that features a 14" 16:10 2880x1800 (2.8K) AMOLED display with a 92% screen-to-body-ratio. The laptop is powered by Intel's 12-GenCore H-series pocessors and offers PCIe Gen 4 SSDs and up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory.
The Swift 3 OLED laptop will ship globally in July 2022, starting at $899.
Asus launched several OLED laptops in 2022, under the Zenbook and Vivobook series, many of which offer OLED display options.
The Zenbook Pro 16X large workstation laptop features a 16" 16:10 60Hz 4K OLED display, the Zenbook Pro 14 Duo that has a 14.5-inch 120Hz 2.8K OLED on the top (with a 12.7" display on the bottom part). There are also models with 13.3" OLED displays, and 15.6" ones.
Lenovo's 2022 range of Yoga convertible laptops include several models with OLED displays. The flagship Yoga Slim 9i is a carbon-neutral certified laptop that features either a 14-inch 2.8K 2880x1800 OLED or a 14" 4K 3840x2400 OLED- there's no LCD option.
The Yoga Slim 7i Pro offers a 14" 2.8K (2880x1800) display - either an 90Hz OLED or an IPS LCD (120Hz or 90Hz). There's also an option for a 2.2K 60Hz IPS LCD.
Fujitsu's premium lightweight CH-series laptops offer a 13.3" OLED or IGZO-LCD display, Intel Core i5 chipset, 16GB of RAM, 512 GB of SSD storage and a multi-purpose HDMI.
