Samsung SDI Led in 2004, But RiTdisplay Was #1 in Q4'04
Total shipments in 2004 were 31.2M, up 98%, and revenues were $446.1M, up 77%. The report forecasts shipments, revenues and ASPs by quarter through Q4'06. In addition to passive matrix OLEDs (PMOLEDs), there are four companies producing active matrix OLEDs (AMOLEDs) although the volumes are low due to the low backplane yields. The technology is expected to overcome low backplane yields and other problems in 2005, which should lead to high volumes in 2006
