DisplaySearch thinks that AMOLEDs will continue to grow quickly. AMOLEDs revenue increased 110% in 2008, and they project that total OLED display revenue will exceed $6 billion in 2015 (up from $591 million in 2008).
OLED displays accounted for less than 1% of total flat panel display revenue in 2008. DisplaySearch forecasts it will reach 5% in 2015.
More findings from DisplaySearch:
- AMOLED will pass PMOLEDs in revenue in the second half of 2009.
- PMOLED revenue is falling - $450 million in 2006, $390 million in 2007 and an estimated $370million in 2008.
- OLED lighting revenue will pass PMOLEDs in 2014.
