Sharp Aquos Zero 2

Sharp's Aquos Zero 2 is a high-end gaming smartphone that features a 6.4" 2340x1080 AMOLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate. Other features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, dual-camera setup and IP65/IP68 water resistance.

The 240Hz display is actually a 120Hz display that inserts a black frame between each actual frame to create a quasi-240Hz cycle. This, according to Sharp, reduces motion blur . The touch panel is also operating at 240Hz which "dramatically improves" the response.

Sharp produced the screen for its first-gen Aquos Zero smartphone so one would assume it is also producing the screen for the Zero 2. But reports last week suggested that Sharp is halting its production of AMOLED displays.

The Sharp Aquos Zero 2 will launch in Japan in the winter of 2019/2020.
