L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) has won a potential five-year, $49.5 million contract to build binocular night vision devices for the U.S. Navyto use for surveillance and identification.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center received three offers for the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
L-3 will build the binoculars to help the Navy recognize and detect items of interest in environments where vision is limited due to conditions with little or no light.
