LG's 55" curved 4K OLED TV, the EG9600 is now shipping for $5,499

Amazon.com is now shipping LG's new 55EG9600 curved 55" 4K OLED TV (2015 model). LG did not yet actually officially launch this TV in the US, but it's already shipping from Amazon. The price is $5,499 (and Amazon says that they currently have only 4 in stock).

The EG9600 OLED TV series offer curved display, 4K resolution, LG's new anti-glare filter, LG's WebOS 2.0 Smart TV OS and quad-core CPUs.

LG's 2014-model 55" curved Full-HD OLED TV, the 55EC9300 is currently selling for less than $2,200 at some online retailers. This means that you are paying 2.5X for adding the 4K option (of course there are more enhancement in the 2015 models, such as a new SmartTV OS version, but that's the main one in this TV). It's likely that LG will lower prices soon for their new OLED TVs.

I'm bypassing 4K anything until I know it all comes with HDCP 2.2 available on all HDMI 2.0 ports.

For these prices (considering the glass is the expensive bit) i expect to have a 120hz 4k resolution with adaptive sync and a mode which disables all software layers all ports besides one displayport1.3 and everything that creates lag.

There's no cable standard with enough bandwidth to do 4K @ 120 Hz presently. As it stands right now, there are 3 different HDMI ports each using a different set of features. It's a real mess. However, on an OLED you do not need ridiculously high refresh rates for good quality motion. If they'd ditch sample-and-hold and give us a nice flickering screen motion clarity would go through the roof.
