Konica Minolta logoKonica Minolta is based in Japan and is involved in copiers, printers, medical equipment, optical devices and thin films used to enhance picture quality in LCD.

KM is researching OLED for lighting, announced a partnership with GE and aims to have products on the market by 2011, and $1 billion in OLED Lighting sales by 2018. KM has licenced OLED IP from Universal Display. The company is also actively developing OLED printing technologies.


In April 2011 Philips started to produce the Lumiblade Plus - 45 lm/W OLED panels developed by Konica. In September 2011 KM started to market the same panels under the Symfos brand. In February 2012 they decided to split the OLED business into a separate business unit - Konica Minolta Opto (KMOT)
