Xiaomi launched two smartphones yesterday, the Redmi K100 Pro and the Redmi K100 Pro Max. The K100 Pro features a 6.59" 185Hz 4,500 nits (peak) 1156x2510 full-RGB AMOLED display, while the K100 Pro Max increases the display size to 6.9", with a 1200x2608 resolution.
Xiaomi says that this is the first smartphone to utilize its new self-developed green pTSF emitter system. The company says it developed this new emitter system in collaboration with researchers at Tsinghua University. It is likely that the actual panel producer is Visionox - that also has strong ties to Tsinghua University (as it was founded as a University spinoff back in 2001), and Visionox indeed started producing commercial OLED displays with green pTSF OLED emitter systems earlier this year.
Last year Xioami developed its own red OLED emitter system, probably based on phosphorescence emitters. It is not clear whether these new smartphones utilize also the company's red emitters.
