Visionox announced that it has progressing with the construction of its $7.6 billion 8.6-Gen V5 AMOLED production fab in Hefei, and that the main building has been topped out.
Visionox begun construction of its new AMOLED fab on February 2025. The production line, when in full capacity, will produce 32,000 monthly 8.6-Gen substrates. The first line in this project will utilize a ViP maskless OLED production process. According to our information, the other lines at the V5 fab will use standard FMM OLED deposition.
The Visionox Intelligent Pixelization (ViP) technology is a maskless production process that enables higher-density display production, at over 1,700 PPI. The idea behind ViP is to replace the fine metal mask (FMM) method with photolithography-based pixel patterning. The ViP technology is based on Applied Material's lithography OLED technology and deposition system called MAX OLED. In December 2023 Visionox announced that it has produced the first mass-production sample ViP AMOLED display.
