According to UBI Research, the adoption of premium displays in the automotive industry is accelerating, with growth of both miniLEDs and OLEDs expected to rise in the next 5 years.
According to UBI, automotive OLED display panel shipments will grow from around 1.1 million in 2023 to 13.5 million by 2030. OLED’s revenue share out of the automotive display market will reach 10% in 2026, and 17% in 2030.
UBI explains that automotive displays are more and more important to automotive car makers, as they transition to electric vehicles and software-defined vehicles (SDVs). MiniLEDs will actually grow faster than OLEDs, from around 4.5 million units in 2024 to 28 million by 2030. The key drivers behind this demand are rising requirements for high brightness, enhanced readability, and high contrast.
