Tianma extends its long-term material supply and license agreement with UDC

Universal Display announced that Tianma Micro-electronics has extended its long-term OLED material supply and license agreement. UDC will continue to supply Tianma with its phosphorescent OLED materials and technologies.

UDC did not disclose any more details or financial terms. The original agreement between Tianma and UDC was signed in 2016.

In August 2019 announced plans for a 6-Gen flexible AMOLED line in Xiamen, China. Total investment in the new fab is estimated at $6.8 billion USD and the monthly capacity will be 48,000 6-Gen substrates. The fab construction is advancing ahead of schedule and Tianma should begin production shortly.

Tianma produces rigid OLEDs at its 5.5-Gen line in Shanghai and in 2017 Tianma started producing rigid and flexible OLEDS at the company's 6-Gen fab in Wuhan. The Wuhan line has a monthly capacity of 15,000 substrates and the company is now doubling the Wuhan fab capacity
