The Seoul Central District Court have sentenced three former LG Display employees, that have been charged with violating the Industrial Technology Protection Act and were suspected of transferring OLED technologies to a Chinese company.
The three former employees were given different sentences: five years in prison and a $27,000 fine, 2 years in prison and a $7,000 fine, and one year in prison.
According to the police, the employees worked in LG Display for several years (two of them for over 20 years), and then left the company to start working for an undisclosed Chinese company. While still at LG, the employees stole some technologies, and took photographs of design drawings of the company's WOLED fab in Guangzhou.
