TCL announced that it is developing a new NXTPAPER eye-care display technology, base don AMOLED displays. TCL has launched the first NXTPAPER display back in 2020, based on reflective LCD panels.
With its NXTPAPER display, TCL is aiming to bridge the gap between true ePaper (E Ink) displays, and regular displays, by providing display that offer a blue-light free emission, no flicker, high power efficiency, and a paper-like display quality.
TCL kept improving its LCD NXTPAPER technology, and now for the first time it showcases its next-generation NXTPAPER based on an AMOLED panel. TCL says that these new panels will combine the unparalleled picture quality, rich, finely detailed visuals and exceptional brightness of AMOLED with TCL's industry-leading eye care display performance, delivering a display that is both exceptionally vibrant and remarkably gentle on the eyes during prolonged viewing.
It seems as if the main advantage indeed is the eye comfort and the paper-like experience, but with the high-quality display quality and high brightness that AMOLEDs can provide.
