TCL CSOT starts ordering equipment for its 8.6-Gen inkjet printing OLED fab

According to reports in China, TCL CSOT has issued 17 equipment bidding announcement, as the company is gearing up to buy the first batch of equipment for its upcoming 8.6-Gen inkjet printing OLED production line in Guangzhou.

According to the reports, CSOT is looking for offers for the supply of 4 inkjet printers, 1 deposition system, 8 sputtering systems, 17 PeCVD reactors, 12 dry etching systems, and 2 ion implanters. It is likely that TCL CSOT has already chosen all of its equipment suppliers, and this is only a formal step by TCL. Still, this shows that TCL CSOT is progressing with the construction of its new line.

It was already reported a while back that TCL CSOT has chosen Korea-based YAS to provide it with evaporation systems (not all the organic layers in TCL's fab will be produced using inkjet printing).

TCL says that the planned T8 fab will have a monthly capacity of 22,500 glass substrates, and it will mainly target IT devices - tablets, laptops and monitors.
