Omdia estimates that automotive OLED shipments will rise almost 12% in 2025, and reach 3 million units. The market is set to almost double in 2026, and reach almost 6 million units.
Omdia, however, says that there are several factors that actually slow down the penetration of automotive OLED displays - increased competition in the automotive market and rising cost sensitivities, and delayed EV launches by European car markets.
Omdia says that one result of this pressure is a drive to reduce AMOLED prices, and prices have indeed dropped by around 15-20% compared to two years ago. OLEDs still carry a premium over LCDs, though.
