In recent years OLED technology has emerged as the leading smartphone display technology, and the world's most popular phone vendors are all shipping AMOLED smartphones.
In 2018, over 500 million AMOLED screens were produced - mostly to satisfy demand from mobile phones vendors. The smartphone OLED 2018 market was led by Samsung, who has been using AMOLEDs in its high-end phones for many years, followed by Apple, LG, Xiaomi, Huawei and others. Samsung is branding its smartphone OLED displays as Super AMOLED display.

Apple for example is using a flexible 5.8" 1125x2436 OLED (made by SDC) in its 2018 iPhone XS (the iPhone XS Max sports a larger 6.5" 1242x2688 flexible AMOLED). Display experts say that the iPhone XS Display is the world's best smartphone display.
Most display experts and consumers agree that OLED displays are the world's best smartphone displays. The best smartphone OLED displays are the Super AMOLED displays produced by Samsung Display, but other OLED producers (such as LG and BOE Display) are also producing high quality OLEDs.

Oppo's latest midrange smartphone, the A3 Pro, offers a 6.7" 120Hz 1080x2412 AMOLED display, a Mediatek Dimensity 7050 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of storage, and IP69 dust/water resistant.
The A3 Pro will start shipping later in April 2024 starting at around $290.
ZTE's Axon 60 Ultra is an enterprise/government smartphone (not sold for consumers), that offers dual satellite connectivity and the ability to make calls and texts on China's Tiantong system.
The Axon 60 Ultra sports a 6.78" 120Hz 1260x2800 AMOLED display.
Xiaomi's Redmi Turbo 3 is a performance-oriented smartphone that offers a 6.67" 120Hz 2400 nits (peak) 1220x2712 AMOLED display (produced by TCL CSoT), a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB of storage and Dual-SIM.
The Redmi Turbo 3 is now shipping starting at around $300.
Lecia's new photography smartphone, produced in collaboration with Sharp, offers a 6.6" 240Hz 2,000-nits 1260x2730 IGZO AMOLED (Sharp's Pro OLED branded display).
The Leitz Phone 3 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 12GB of RAM and 512 of expandable storage, and is IP65 and IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. It is available in Japan only.
Realme's GT Neo6 SE smartphone has the world's brightest OLED yet - a 6000 nits (peak) 6.78" 120Hz 1264x2780 LTPO AMOLED display, produced by BOE. The phone also offers a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage and a dual camera setup with a main 50 MP PDAF/OIS lens.
The GT Neo6 SE will launch on April 17, starting at under $300.
Motorola's Edge 50 Pro offers a 6.7" 144Hz 2,000 nits 1220x2712 AMOLED display (produced by LG Display), a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage and a triple camera setup.
The Edge 50 fusion has two models (one for international markets, and one for Latin America specifically), and offers a 6.7" 144Hz (120Hz in LATAM) 1600 nits 1080x2400 AMOLED display (produced by LGD), a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset (Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in LATAM) and up to 12GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
Tecno's Pova 6 smartphone offers a 6.78" 120Hz 1300 nits 1080x2460 AMOLED display, a Mediatek Helio G99 Ultimate chipset, up to 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and a dual camera setup with a main 108MP sensor.
The Pova 6 is expected to ship by the end of April 2024.

Vivo's V40 SE mid-range smartphone offers a 6.67" 120Hz 1080x2400 AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, a microSDXC slot, 5G connectivity and a triple camera setup.
The V40 SE will ship in Europe in April 2024, with a price of around $330.
