Noctiluca accelerates R&D work on chemical compounds for the OLED industry

OLED material developer Noctiluca announced that recently it has received several funding grants, that will enable it to accelerate its R&D activities. The company also says that it is working with leading OLED display makers, which are in various stages of testing its materials towards commercial adoption.

In recent weeks, Noctiluca secured a $323,000 grant, which follows $1.8 million in grants it has received in 2025. Together with its own $3,6 million financing round, this enables Noctiluca to expand its R&D efforts and accelerate its time to market, as it develop R&D agreement and joint technology projects with leading OLED makers. Noctiluca has submitted more project applications worth around $2.3 million, which are still under review. 

Noctiluca's current focus is on its novel NCEIL-4 compound, that has been designed as an OLED Electron Injection Layer (EIL). Tests have shown that the NCEIL-4 can enable a dramatic increase in device lifetime and efficiency. Noctiluca updates that it is currently collaborating with approximately 15 industry entities on testing this material.
