The Korean ministry of trade, industry and resources is launching a new project to develop AMOLED displays for fighter jet cockpits.
The project will utilize LG Display's OLED display technology, and Hanwha Systems' defense fighter jet system experience.
LG Display is supplying OLED displays for aerospace applications for many years, but a fighter jet environment demands are much stricter than commercial aircrafts, and the display will have to withstand wide temperature changes, massive vibrations and shock, and continue to show accurate information under both strong ambient light and dark night conditions.
