LG Display announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, with revenues of 5,534 billion KRW (about $3.7 billion USD a 9% decline from last year and a 23% decline from the last quarter), and an operating profit of 147 billion KRW ($100 million) - more than triple its operating profit last year.
LG reported, however, a net loss of 576 billion KRW ($389 million), significantly worse than the 237 billion KRW loss in Q1 2025. LG says that these increased losses were mainly due to foreign exchange headwinds.
LG Display says that its strong operating profits in the quarter are due to good sales of premium OLED products, and also due to its cost-cutting efforts. In the quarter, OLED products accounted to 60% of its sales - and as LG's OLED margins are higher than its LCD margins, stronger OLED sales increase the company's profits.
