LG Display announces a plan to invest $745 million in building new OLED infrastructure

LG Display announced a new plan to invest $745 million in its OLED production facilities, to improve ‌its ⁠technological competitiveness.

LG Display Guangzhou LCD factory photoLGD said that the ​investment ​will ⁠be made from ​April ​2026 ⁠to June 2028, but the company did not disclose more details.

 

Last year, LGD announced a 2-years plan to invest $925 million in advanced OLED technologies. According to reports, the 2025 plan mostly focused on small and medium sized displays, and also an updated of its WOLED TV and monitor production technology. Specifically, the plan included an upgrade to its LTPO, tandem and COE processes, and a large portion of that investment (around $410 million) was invested in LGD's module factory in Vietnam.
