HKC wins first AMOLED orders, to enter mass production soon and expand its OLED product range

Shenzhen-based HKC is moving forward with its AMOLED project, and the company said that a few days ago, on November 13, it has received its first OLED panel orders. The company said that its OLED panels has officially passed customer testing and verification. 

HKC Smartphone AMOLED sample panel, 2025-07This first order is for HKC's smartphone AMOLED panels that the company showed in July 2025. These OLEDs are produced on an advanced Oxide-TFT (IGZO) backplane, likely on Royole's old production line, see more below. HKC says that the performance of its IGZO smartphone AMOLED displays matches the industry's leading products.

 

HKC says that following its success in R&D and initial production, it is now planning to accelerating its product roadmap, and introduce more AMOLED panels soon, to cover more sizes - and also other applications beyond smartphones. HKC is planning specifically to target the IT market, with tablet and laptop OLEDs, and it is also looking to expand into OLED microdisplays for VR applications. 

HKC dual OLED strategy

A few years ago HKC made the decision to become an OLED display maker, and is progressing quickly with its plans. The company's strategy includes two paths. First is in-house R&D, developing next-generation maskless OLED production technologies, aimed to leap-frog over existing FMM methods. The second path is utilize acquisitions of existing production lines from failed OLED makers to kick start production.
