Samsung 55 Inch at Magnolia Audio

6322 Roosevelt Way NE Seattle.

The Best TV in the store was the Samsung OLED. The already established "top of the line"  was like a 65 or 70 inch Panasonic Studio Master or something like that, which I am guessing is marketed for Videofile Home Cinemas or for making director cuts in a studio. The Samsung OLED image was crisper. Previous comments I have seen on the OLED TV “NOT” popping out when you look at the “Sea” of televisions in a showroom is correct. This one was off to the side in a separate viewing area. After scrutinizing all the high end sets this one eventually does stand out with more clarity and slightly more vibrant colors. The salesman was very enthusiastic about OLED technology and Samsung and seemed very knowledgeable. For those that don’t know Magnolia A.V. is a high end Audio-Video file showroom that partnered with Best Buy to have upscale in-store showrooms. Salesman Demo’d a Sony 4K which was roughly equivalent in viewing to the Samsung OLED 1080P. He knew about the Panasonic 4K OLED under development and that it was soon to be available. He also demo’d the simultaneous “two program” viewing option using the glasses (two provided with the OLED unit). He was very enthusiastic about the Samsung in general and said this dual viewing capability was the most impressive feature that he has seen in any new TV development. I will have to say the picture quality, even with the glasses on was EXTRAORDINARY! I believe he said it still rendered in 1080P on each of the two programs. Sunday football on one and Avatar on the other. You can switch between the two by a button on the earpiece or by using the remote. Simply flawless execution SAMSUNG! TWO THUMBS UP! You can leave the glasses off and see both images at the same time in half tone (kinda). I had a hard time leaving the store with Avatar still playing.

Can’t wait for a flat version 50 inch or 55 inch so I can wall mount it. I have absolutely no room to place a TV on a stand in my living room! Actually I need to buy two of them when they get to the $6,000 range! One of them for my weekend cottage- ARE YOU LISTENING SAMSUNG! Your buyers are out there!

Thanks for listening,
