Counterpoint: OLED TV sees a 20% increase in shipments in Q2 2026, against a declining global TV market

Counterpoint says that global TV shipments decreased 4% in June 2026 (compared to June 2025), bringing the second quarter (Q2 2026) shipments down 0.4% from Q2 2025.

Against that market, OLED TV shipments actually grew 12% in June 2026, and 20% for the whole second quarter, led by LG Electronics. LG Display, the main OLED TV panel supplier, is now looking to increase the market share of OLED TVs, developing lower cost panels (including WOLED SE, and 2-stack tandems).

Counterpoint says that the weakness in June was mainly due to pulled demand towards the 2026 Football World Cup into April 2026.
