PMOLED producer

Futaba Corporation is a Japanese company that produces Vacuum Fluorescent Displays (VFDs) and other industrial and commercial components and modules. In October 2011 Futaba bought TDK's part in their PMOLED joint venture, TDK Micro Device Corporation, which is now a Futaba subsidiary.

Futaba develops and manufactures small PMOLED displays for consumer applications including flexible PMOLEDs. In 2022, the company signed a strategic agreement with RiTDisplay, that will produce PMOLED displays for Futaba, who is now likely not producing any displays in-house anymore.

Nippon Seiki was established in 1946 in Japan and is making and selling instruments for automobiles and office automation appliances.

Nippon Seiki produces PMOLED displays, focused on displays for automobile dashboards and electrical equipment.

Japan-based Nippon Shokubai, established in 1941, is a chemical producer and supplier. The company offers many materials, and say that it is the world leader (by market share) of superabsorbent polymers.

Nippon Shokubai is developing its own OLED lighting panel product, branded as iOLED.

China-based Qingyue was established in 2021 as a spin-off from OLED producer Visionox, to handle the company's PMOLED business.

Qingyue, one of the world's leading PMOLED makers, has two 370x400 mm production lines, each with a capacity of 8,000 monthly substrates (around 1.75 million 1-inch" displays). The company also has a subsidiary that develops OLED microdisplays.

Qingyue is a public company that trades on the Shanghai stock exchange (688496.sh).

RiTDisplay is a Taiwanese company, manufacturing PMOLED panels. RiT has been spun-off from Ritek, that still holds a majority stake. RiTDisplay is one of the world's largest PMOLED makers.

RiTDisplay went public in 2016, following a strong rise in PMOLED demand. The company is trading in the Taipei Stock Exchange (8104:TT). Beyond its own displays, the company is also producing Futaba's PMOLEDs.

In June 2011 it was reported that RiTDisplay is collaborating with IGNIS on AMOLED panel production on a-Si backplanes. That project never took off, though. In 2024, RiT announced a partnership with SmartKem to develop OTFT-driven AMOLEDs by 2024.

In 2019 RiT signed a strategic partnership with PlayNitride and aims to start developing and producing MicroLED displays.

Sinovia Technologies develop roll-to-roll printed OLED production technologies, that enable fast and cost effective production of flexible OLED panels.

The company is building a pilot production line for OLED displays, and aims to offer displays for smart labeling, packaging, etc. The company demonstrated its latest OLED displays at Display Week 2023.

Truly Semiconductors, based in Hong Kong and owned by Truly International Holdings (a public company), that develops and produces displays. Truly Semiconductors produces LCD, PMOLED and AMOLED displays.

Truly owns and operates three 2.5-Gen PMOLED lines and a 4.5-Gen AMOLED line.

Winstar, established in 1998 in Taiwan, is a display producer, that makes LCDs and PMOLED displays. Winstar has two 2.5-Gen PMOLED production lines.

Winstar offers a range of monochrome and color PMOLED displays, and is developing flexible OLEDs and OLED lighting panels and also transparent PMOLED displays.

In 2022, Winstar became a public company following an IPO at Taiwan's OTC (ticker :6916).

WiseChip Semiconductor Inc (WSI) was established in 2005 in Taiwan. The company develops and produces PMOLED displays. In 2009 WiseChip acquired fellow PMOLED maker Univision.

Wisechip says it's the world's second largest PMOLED maker, and the company now enjoys a surge in PMOLED demand (we hear the same from other PMOLED makers). The company currently offers glass-based PMOLEDs ranging from 0.33" to 5.5", flexible displays, TADF/HF displays and more.
