OLED emitter materials maker

beeOLED

Germany-based beeOLED was established in 2020 with an aim to develop deep-blue OLED emitters. The company's material technology is based on intra-metallic emission, that has been used in other display technologies in the past but have not been usable in OLED displays yet.

In August 2023, beeOLED announce a $14.4 million financing round co-led by eCAPITAL and Innovation Industries. In early 2026, beeOLED has been awarded a 2.5 million Euro project by the EiC to support its work on blue OLED emitters.

Cynora

Cynora, established in 2003 in Germany, was a developer of materials for OLEDs and OPVs. Cynora started out to develop copper-based OLED compounds, in addition to developing flexible OLED and OPV technologies.

The company later changed direction and focused on TADF OLED emitters, specifically aiming to develop an efficient blue emitter. The company hoped to have a commercial blue by 2017, but it was not successful.

 

In 2020 Cynora announced its first commercial product, a fluorescent blue emitter that is 15% more efficient that current fluorescent blue emitters on the market. Cynora branded its new material as cyBlueBooster. We are not aware of any companies that actually adopted this new material. In March 2020 we posted an interview with Cynora's CEO to discuss this new material.

DS Neolux

Korea-based DS Neolux, owned by Duksan Hi-Metal (part of the DS Holdings group) produces a wide range of OLED materials.

DS Neolux's main materials ETL, EIL, HTL and HIL. The company also produces a red OLED host materiel and CPL protective layers for AMOLED displays.

 

DS Neolux is a public company in Korea (213420.KQ).

DuPont

DuPont is a science-based producer that is involved in many markets including materials, plastics, electronics, energy, medical and transportation. Dupont is a public company that trades on the NYSE (ticker: DD).

Dupont was involved in displays, developing a wide range of materials and solutions. In 2025, the company spun-off its electronics materials division into a separate company called Qnity Electronics.

 

DuPont developed OLED materials and process solutions for many years, active in both evaporable and soluble materials. In 2015 DuPont built a state-of-the-art scale-up facility to produce OLED materials. Dupont has also developed a new manufacturing process that use a 'spray-printer' together with Dai Nippon Screen - which may lead the way towards cheap OLED TVs.

In 2019 LG Chem acquired DuPont's soluble OLED technologies and assets (including 540 materials and process patents), in a deal estimated at $175 million.

Eternal Material Technology

China-based Eternal Material Technology Company (EMT, also called Dingcai Technology in China) develops and produces electronic materials, mainly in the fields of displays and photoelectric applications.

The company produces OLED stack materials, including ETL materials and is also developing TADF/TASF materials.

 

In 2021 EMT completed the construction of a 15 tons OLED materials production facility in Hefei.

Hodogaya Chemical

Hodogaya is a chemical company, established in 1915 in Japan, that is involved with functional colorants, functional polymers, basic chemicals, agro-science and more.

For the OLED market, Hodogaya produces mainly HTM and ETM materials (including a soluble HTM). The company is also developing Hole Injection Materials, Emitters and hosts. Hodogaya also holds Korea's SFC, an OLED material developer.

Idemitsu Kosan

Idemitsu Kosan is a Japanese company, founded in 1911, to engage in oil distribution, and over the years they have gained experience in fuel products and basic chemicals, plastics, electronic materials and OLED materials. Idemitsu is best known for its fluorescent blue emitter and host.

Innox

Innox, established in 1988 in Korea, specializes in high-end materials for the IT and semiconductor industry.

Innox offers OLED materials such as conductive films, flexible substrates and backplates through its Innox Advanced Materials subsidiary.
