Aumovio, an automotive technology company that was spun-off from Continental in 2025, announced that it has secured a major order to supply an automotive OLED display. This display will feature an invisible under-the-display camera.

Aumovio did not provide many details, beyond saying that the customer is a premium European-based car maker, and the displays will be used in a volume model.
Aumovio says that it is the first in the industry to bring a display solution into series production where the camera module, relevant for comfort and safety functions, is integrated invisibly under the display – boosting user acceptance and unlocking new design possibilities for a clean cockpit. The company says that studies show that drivers do not like having a visible camera pointed at them. When camera-based functions are integrated discreetly, however, they are not only accepted, but welcomed – much like smartphones, where face recognition has become the norm.
