I wouldn't call it a lower-end smartphone, more of a mid range smartphone for a lower-end price.

Also may want to correct some information on this page. The phone is not free with contract, it is $.01 with contract, I know it is only a penny, but still free is incorrect. Also, I know the website you link to says it has a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor but it actually has a 1.5Ghz Dual-core processor (at least mine does)
