Rumors have been circulating around Apple's first OLED MacBook for quite some time, and now we have some more details about the new screen and Apple's plans.
Apple MacBook Pro (2023, with the top-notch and LCD display)
A few days ago Apple introduced new M5 versions of its MacBook Pro range, but these did not include an OLED screen. That specific upgrade is planned for 2026. According to Bloomberg, the new devices will sport OLEDs for the first time - and these will also be Apple's first touch-enabled laptops. Bloomberg also says that Apple will remove the top notch design which (which holds the FaceTime cameras) and adopt a punch hole (maybe an island design like in the iPhone smartphones) instead.
Last month we reported that Apple has signed an exclusive supply agreement with Samsung Display to produce the AMOLED displays for its upcoming 2026 MacBook Pro laptops (both 14-inch and 16-inch models). SDC will produce the displays at their new 8.6-Gen A6 fab.
