Mitsubishi

Company description: 

Mitsubishi logoMitsubishi community that consists of a multitude of independent companies involved in a wide range of markets including automobiles, plastics, electronics, hotels, banking and more. Several of these companies are involved with OLEDs:

Mitsubishi Chemicals is working towards OLED materials together with UDC. They have also entered the OLED Lighting market together with Pioneer in February 2010.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has decided to start making OLED display panels back in 2007, although we did not hear about these efforts since.

Mitsubishi Electric has shown a modular large-size OLED display aimed for outdoor use in 2009, but there's no word yet on pricing or availability of these displays.

H.C. Starck

Company description: 

H.C.Starck logoH.C. Startk is an international company producing various metal powders, ceramic powders, chemicals and more. They are selling a wide range of Conductive Polymers under the Clevios brand. Clevios materials have been developed for use as the hole injection layer (HIL) in OLED displays.

Sun Fine Chem

Company description: 

SFC LogoSun Fine Chem (SFC), based in Korea, develops fine chemicals with a focus on OLED, PDP, OTFT, PR, OPC, solar cell, and write once optical recording.

SFC has been producing OLED materials since 2002, and are working together with UDC to develop and commercialize highly-efficient phosphorescent OLED material systems.

Showa Denko (SDK)

Company description: 

Showa Denko (SDK) logoShowa Denko (SDK) is a large Japense chemical company, established in 1908 and is active in many markets worldwide. SDK are working towards phosphorescent-polymer-based OLEDs.

Idemitsu Kosan

Company description: 

Idemitsu Kosan logoIdemitsu Kosan is a Japanese company, founded in 1911, to engage in oil distribution, and over the years they have gained experience in fuel products and basic chemicals, plastics, electronic materials and OLED materials.

Idemitsu Kosan are working towards OLED materials together with Sony, LG Display, Mitsui chemicals and UDC

Sumitomo Chemical

Company description: 

Sumitomo logo newSumitomo Chemical has been established in 1913, and since then has been researching and producing industrial chemicals and materials. Sumitomo has been working with CDT on PLED materials, and has acquired the company in July 2007.

Sumitomo plans to produce OLED TVs, and have teamed up with Panasonic to make 40" and larger sets by 2010.

Sensient Imaging Technologies GmbH

Company description: 

Sensient Logo NewSensient Imaging Technologies GmbH, subsidiary of the US based Sensient Technologies Corporation, is a German manufacturer of highly specialized performance chemicals for OLED displays and laser printing equipment. Sensient started its OLED R&D activities in 1998. Sensient is a supplier of "classical" OLED materials, e. g. Alq3, a-NPB, BAlq, Rubrene, but also of innovative materials, e. g. high TG hole transporters, electron conductors/ matrix materials for phosphorescent systems and phosphorescent emitters.

SIT has invested into 10 independent sublimation lines with a total capacity of up to 80 kg per month, and they have an in-house application lab for device and life time testing guaranteed consist OLED performance and product quality.
Sensient is a participant in the European OLLA - Project on OLED for lighting application.
