Pioneer will be the one to actually make the panels, and Mitsubishi will market and sell them. In January 2009 LG Display showed a 15" AMOLED display that might be ready to produce within 2009 if they find any customers. There are rumors that Apple has signed a deal with LG to supply them OLED displays for iPhones, iPods and Netbooks. In March 2009 LG said they will direct more investment on OLEDs, and new production lines will start making panels in 2H 2010. In June 2009 we have talked with their OLED displays sales & marketing VP. LG plans to offer 15" OLED TVs in Korea by November 2009: these will have 1366x768 resolution, 1.7mm width and a 100,000:1 contrast ratio. In December 2009, LG bought Kodak's OLED unit. The activities cover three main application areas, organic based lighting and signage technology, organic solar cell technology, and OLED-on-CMOS applications. COMEDD offers research and developments on innovative fabrication equipment based on three fabrication lines: a rigid substrate fabrication line (370x470 mm² substrates) for lighting and organic solar cell applications, an OLED-on-CMOS line on 200mm wafer size and a roll-to-roll prototype line for flexible substrates.
