Lomox is a UK based company setup in December 2007. Lomox is working on OLED lighting and displays. They have patented OLED materials, and are also using holographically-generated nanostructures that reduce the loss of light emission in OLEDs.

Polar OLED was spun-off from the University of Hull in November 2009. Polar is working on liquid crystal based polymer OLED materials, and are currently shipping sample materials for research.

Polar say that their materials will be far more cost effective to manufacture than what's available today.

Kateeva is a startup, that has developed a new way to deposit OLEDs - using an inkjet printer and a micro-dryer called a T Jet (thermal Jet) along with proprietary inks. This will allow makers to use Gen 8.5 and larger substrates to make OLEDs.

Kateeva's technology has been exclusively licensed from MIT.

Peptronics is an Israeli company, founded in 2005, on the the basis of research led by professors Eichen & Tessler. Peptronics is working on peptide based technology that can be used to make printable polymer OLEDs for displays and lighting.

Advantech is an early stage OLED backplane development company, founded by Dr. T. Peter Brody, inventor of the Active-Matrix. Advantech has created a roll-to-roll fabrication technology for producing thin film electronic circuits at exceptionally low cost. The company intends to exploit this technology to manufacture active matrix backplanes for OEM sale and licensing.

Japanese Organic Lighting was formed by Junji Kido, a professor from the Yamagata University (he invented the first white OLED) to work on white OLEDs. The company's capital is only about 130,000$ currently, and it was setup in the Yamagata Universit'yes Venture Business Laboratory.

Organic Lighting plans to have equipment on the market by the beginning of 2010. It will not have its own factory. They also have plans for OLED emergency lights for public places. They hope to reach several tens of millions of US$ in revenue by 2014.

ModisTech is a Korean company focusing on OLED displays and lighting R&D, and also consluting services.
