OLED-Info is 4 years old

OLED-Info is having its 4th birthday this month... I started out this site as a hobby and as an 'experiment' in site building, but it has quickly grown to be the number one source for OLED information and news. The site started out as very plain 'static' HTML site, named ol-ed.com, quickly changed to oled-info. Later on in 2005 our graphics and design got upgraded, and in 2006 we moved to the new content management system which allowed us to have forums, users, comments, and tags.

The first news reported, on the 6th of July 2004, was about Samsung's new phone the SGH-D100, which sported a 256 color external PMOLED display. Later this year we saw several large (20"-40") OLED prototypes, with several companies starting to work on OLEDs, and having plans for OLED TVs. The good old days.. Since then we have seen a flurry of PMOLED phones and MP3 players, and later on AMOLEDs started to ship. The biggest news was probably Sony's XEL-1 TV, and the advancements in oled lighting. Everything is slower than expected, but looking back 4 years we can really see how far we've come!

So - the past 4 years have been great, here's for the next 4!
